MCU’s ‘Blade’ To Be Rated PG-13

Kevin Feige has confirmed the new Blade MCU film will be rated PG-13.

During a Disney’s TCA event, Feige explained that Deadpool 3 will be the only Rated-R MCU film and the new Mahershala Ali will go on a soft PG-13 rating. Fan’s were hoping to get an R-Rated Blade film following success from the previous film’s which starred Wesley Snipes.

“Other than Deadpool, which has already established itself as a certain genre and a certain rating, that we already said we would not mess with when we started working on Deadpool – which we have – other than that, we haven’t encountered a story or a storyline or a character’s journey that a PG-13, or the tone, or the ratings we’ve been using up to this point has prevented us… We’ve told all the stories that we wanted to with the tonality and the rating we have now.”

Stacy Osei-Kuffour has been tapped to pen the screenplay for the Blade reboot with no director attached to the film yet.

Wesley Snipes will not be involved in the reboot, but he did mention during an interview with CinemaBlend; “you never know” if he’ll make a surprise cameo, as he’s “open to play with everybody.”

The film has no release date and it’s unclear when production will kick off, but keep it here for more updates on this.
