The ‘Star Wars’ and ‘X-Men:Apocalypse’ star is tapped for a major role in Disney+ Moon Knight series.

According to THR,Oscar is reportedly in negotiations to lead the cast of the Marvel and Disney+ series “Moon Knight”.

In the comics, the hero is Marc Spector – a mercenary who has numerous alter egos from a cabbie to a millionaire playboy – in order to better fight the criminal underworld. He’s also the conduit for the Egyptian moon god Khonshu. Returning to life, Spector uses the vast fortune he earned through investing his money from his mercenary work to create an array of equipment in his new guise as Moon Knight. He also conceives of multiple identities, including millionaire Steven Grant and taxi driver Jake Lockley, to aid him in his new life as a crime fighter.

Jeremy Slater (“Umbrella Academy”) has been tapped to develop and lead the writing team. The companies will now look to attach a director to the series, but no production start date has yet been set.

Oscar is set to appear in the sci-fi film Dune which will hit theaters in 2021. His other upcoming projects include director Paul Schrader’s The Card Counter and the HBO series Scenes from a Marriage alongside Jessica Chastain.
