Finally, Ragnarok is upon us. The latest film in the Thor franchise has been released and has already beaten Spider-Man: Homecoming in terms of box office. This installment featuring the God of Thunder has to be considered the greatest Thor film out of the three and even better as a film than the other two MCU movies to come out this year, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2.
It’s the perfect blend of comedy and action, and while Thor may not be the hero you would tend to associate with humor, the goofs throughout the movie and especially the chemistry he shares with Hulk serve him well in adding some much-needed levity. There are some strong dramatic moments and this is also Chris Hemsworth’s best performance as Thor so far, Tom Hiddleston is awesome as Loki, which shouldn’t be a surprise and Cate Blanchett made a great villain, both in appearance and her acting.
This film also sets up Avengers: Infinity War perfectly and hopefully we’ll all see a trailer soon! Mark Ruffalo also stole a few scenes as Hulk, it’s safe to say Ruffalo is the quintessential choice as Hulk and this is also his best outing as the Green Giant.
Karl Urban was underutilized in his role as Skurge, but it was a minor blemish on this otherwise awesome outing for Thor. The action scenes were the best they’ve ever been and even a welcome cameo from Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange made the entire film that much better. The effects are nothing to sneeze at, and they also made Hulk the most imposing he’s ever been as well as hilarious in his own right. Definitely a must-see and a must-see-again!
