Thor:Ragnarok is playing out everywhere and if you watched the film you know it has a huge ending which leads to Infinity war.
Director Taika Waititi and Chris explain the film’s ending.
In said mid-credits scene, Thor’s ship is confronted by a vastly larger vessel which it has been confirmed to be the ‘Sanctuary II’ which belongs to Thanos. Beyond that though, it’s not clear how that will impact the MCU going forward. Even the film’s director Taika Waititi tells ET Online that Marvel keeps him the dark like the rest of us:
“I’m so nervous about saying anything about any other movies. What’s good about Marvel is that they don’t let the directors really find out about the other movies. I think that’s a good thing, because I’ve got a big mouth and I will just give away spoilers. I’m not going to say. I’m not going to say!
[Marvel’s Kevin Feige] wanted a scene like that, where basically it was a cool cliffhanger. It’s what these guys are great at with their post-credits and mid-credits scenes. He wanted something that showed Thor and Loki together — maybe for the last time?. Who knows — and then that big ship coming up. It was all his idea.”
Both Waititi and Thor himself, actor Chris Hemsworth, have spoken about a key moment in the film’s third act – Thor losing an eye. The reveal was a surprise, especially as trailers for ‘Ragnarok’ and “Avengers: Infinity War” have shown Hemsworth’s character sporting both eyes in scenes that will later include an eye patch. Waititi tells EW:
“That kind of just evolved just throughout the script process, to just keep stripping that character down, having him [Thor[ lose the hammer and all those things and to kind of create a broken version of the character. At the end, he sort of becomes a refugee.”
Hemsworth confirms Thor will still be with only one eye at the start of ” Avengers: Infinity War”: “Yeah we carry it into the film with the eye patch you see in this film.”
“Thor Ragnarok” is now playing everywhere in cinemas.
