As if I couldn’t love Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone together any more.
Since the trailer doesn’t reveal too much about the story, here’s a plot synopsis:
Mia (Emma Stone), an aspiring actress, serves lattes to movie stars in between auditions, and Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a dedicated jazz musician, scrapes by playing cocktail piano gigs in dingy bars, but as success mounts they are faced with decisions that begin to fray the fragile fabric of their love affair, and the dreams they worked so hard to maintain in each other threaten to rip them apart.
La La Land comes to us from Damien Chazelle, who most recently did the acclaimed Whiplash. That alone would be enough to get me hyped, but La La Land also brings together Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone once again. They’ve proven multiple times how well of an on screen couple they make. The two are just some of my favorite actors as well.
As for the movie, it looks incredible. The trailer looks and feels so much like classic Hollywood, I love it. The poster is also beautiful, for similar reasons to the trailer and just being so unique. This is a poster I’d hang up.

La La Land screens at the Venice Film Festival in August, but hits theaters on December 16, 2016, which is the same day Rogue One releases. I’m more excited for this, which is saying a lot.
