I’d make some clever comment about how many people they’re casting, but everyone is already doing that.
The Hollywood Reporter first broke the story of Australian actress, Angourie Rice, joining the cast, who also recently finished shooting Jasper Jones, with Hugo Weaving and Toni Collette. There are no details on who she’s playing in Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This is wonderful news as Angourie Rice did a fantastic job of keeping up with Ryan Gosling and Russell Crowe in her breakout role in The Nice Guys. That’s a great movie, if you haven’t seen it. I’m glad she’s getting all kinds of work now as she really deserves it. I can’t wait to see what she brings to Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently shooting in Atlanta under the direction of Jon Watts. John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein, who recently wrote Vacation, wrote the script. That’s worrying, but I’m confident this’ll turn out great. Marvel isn’t going to let Spider-Man’s first movie in the MCU get screwed up.
