After Spidey’s magnificent appearance in Captain America Civil War in May, fans have been ecstatic over how Spider-Man Homecoming and other MCU films will introduce some of his greatest foes.

One specifically is Eddie Brock aka Venom. The character was horribly portrayed in 2007’s Spider-Man 3 and deserves a second chance on the silver screen without a doubt. He’s Spider-Man’s 2nd greatest villain with the Green Goblin at #1.

So you may be asking, “how could they introduce Venom and the Symbiote? Well thanks to the hours I’ve spent reading Marvel Comics and the hours on Marvel’s wiki, I’ve got a clue.

Because the TASM franchise over at Sony used the Ultimate comics for inspiration and ultimately failed, it would make sense for Marvel Studios to go with a more Earth 616 based universe for Spider-Man. This would mean villains like Venom, Rhino, and the Lizard are NOT the products of Oscorp (or Osborn Industries).

In the MCU, Venom would have a very unique background as he did in the 1960’s. The Symbiote actually came from space when it clasped on to J Jonah Jameson’s son’s spacecraft. Spider-Man had to save him when the ship almost crashed and was infected by the Symbiote. If the writers of the film wanted to be super comic accurate, they could use that way.

The second option is tying it all into Infinity War. Maybe post the Infinity War films after Earth has been ridden of Thanos, he could have left the Symbiote behind. It could be seen as one of the Collector’s weird artifacts that falls into young Peter Parker’s hands.

Either way, fans would be happy and both of the options seem practical! Thanks for reading and make sure to check my page out on Instagram @SuperheroGazette!
